Youth for Christ (YFC) Conduct first Visitation.

The Catholic Diocese of Gizo Youth for Christ (YFC) launch its first visitation program to the needy people over the weekend.

Granny Seno Rurumae was the first to be visited on Sunday the 30th April at her daughter’s resident at Gizo banana valley.

The aging mother was very excited when she received the youths who they gave their wonderful message through singing, praying and sharings which uplifts her spirit.

The YFC program was mainly to encourage, impact or to renew youths by its programs of activities, that one may become good citizen of this country Solomon Island.

Accompanying the youths was their parish priest Fr. Stephen Te’e.

Bishop Luciano Capelli has finally completed his pastoral visit to our eight parishes as he prepares for his retirement as a shepherd for the diocese.

Nine Young Boys Complete Come and See.


Nine young boys have successfully completed the Diocesan COME and SEE program at Moli Pastoral Centre.

Attendances were from Moli, Wagina, Voruvoru, and Taro where most of them wish to accept the invitation from the church.

“After this program, some of them will be recommended to Pre-seminary 2023, and for the time being, those who will go to the Pre-seminary will go home and stay, and work with their Parish Priest and Community. While the other group will continue their secondary study”, said the facilitator Father Jacob Qetobatu.

Father Jacob also challenged other parishes saying that If God calls from these parishes, why not God call people from Gizo and Noro.

The program commenced 18th till the 22nd of July.

Nine Babies received their Sacrament of Baptism 


Fr, Benedictus Qelo has dedicated nine babies to the church during receiving their Sacrament of Baptism on the Ascension Day at Choiseul bay.

Fr. Qelo also congratulated their parents for bringing their babies into the church, and their small Catholic community for being motivated into building the church of God

Foods were prepared for everyone who attend the Eucharistic celebration and witnessed the Sacrament of baptism.

Peace and Justice Workshop End Successfully at Moli

The Catholic Diocese of Gizo, Western Province held a workshop on Peace and Justice at Moli pastoral center, Choiseul province from 15th to 19th November 2021.

The workshop was facilitated by Fr. Henry Paroi op. an anthropologist by profession and was attended by parish representatives of Voruvoru, Sirovanga, Taro, and Moli altogether the participants were 33 including the diocesan pastoral team that came from Gizo.
